The Buffalo Bulls football team is the football team representing the University at Buffalo and University of Buffalo football.  The Buffalo Bulls play in the Mid-America Conference with the Buffalo Bulls' first season coming in 1894.

The Buffalo Bulls have a unique football history in that there was a seven year hiatus between 1970 and 1977. During this time the University of Buffalo football team wasn't available to Buffalo Bulls students because of funding issues. In 1993, after the program had been reintroduced for almost 20 years, the University of Buffalo football team made the jump to Division I-AA. In 1999, the Buffalo Bulls football team moved up to I-A, now the Bowl Subdivision.
