Skyler Hagg was raised in Glendale, Arizona and attended Ironwood High School.

Skyler Hagg was ranked among the Top 25 recruits in the state of Arizona going into his senior year but his season was cut short due to an injury. As a junior, Skyler Hagg led the Eagles with 15 touchdowns and account for 1,380 yards. Skyler Hagg also had a school record 99 yard touchdown run.

In 2006, Skyler Hagg became a redshirted freshman on the Buffalo Bulls football schedule. In 2007, Skyler Hagg played in eight games during the Buffalo Bulls football season. As a 5’10” 175 lbs kick returner, Skyler Hagg had 14 returns for 246 yards. Skyler Hagg had a season long 52-yard return at Penn State.
