Steven Means was raised in Buffalo, New York and attended Grover Cleveland High School.

As a senior on the Grover Cleveland High School football, Steven Means had 108 tackles, 20 sacks, an interception and five forced fumbles. Steven Means was also a two-time All-Western New York selection.

In 2008, Steven Means became a Buffalo Bulls football player. The 6’3” 220 lbs defensive end didn’t play in any games during his first Buffalo Bulls football season. Steven Means will be a redshirted freshman on the 2009 Buffalo Bulls football roster.
